A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed, and is, thereby, a true manifestation of what one feels about life in it's entirety. . . I believe in photography as one means of achieving an ultimate happiness and faith! - Ansel Adams

About My Bioscope

Hi there...thanks so much for visiting my blog.

Our world presents itself in myriad colours and forms - forever changing and throbbing with energy! My Bioscope is an attempt to display as many of them as seen through my viewfinder and captured through my lens.
Apart from depicting the simple everyday beauty of this world and its inhabitants, the blog also doubles up as a travelogue, on occasions, as I share my experience of travelling to the place, a bit of history and tips for the future traveller.

In the Aitareya Brahmana, the (Hindu) god Indra, protector of travellers, urges the life of the road upon a young man named Rohita:
“There is no happiness for him who does not travel, Rohita! Thus we have heard. Living in the society of men, the best man becomes a sinner... Therefore, wander!
The feet of the wanderer are like the flower, his soul is growing and reaping the fruit; and all his sins are destroyed by his fatigues in wandering. Therefore, wander!
The fortune of him who is sitting, sits; it rises when he rises; it sleeps when he sleeps; it moves when he moves. Therefore, wander!"

...and therefore, I travel!

The blog enables me to combine some of my passions like writing (I once wanted to be a novelist and I still harbour that dream), travelling and photography. I sincerely hope you like it.

Kindly browse through my archives and leave comments where you may feel the need. As a hobbyist photographer I would be glad to receive some bouquets and brickbats! Would also appreciate suggestions for improving the blog.
"I enjoy travelling and recording far-away places and people with my camera. But I also find it wonderfully rewarding to see what I can discover outside my own window. You only need to study the scene with the eyes of a photographer." - Alfred Eisenstaed
